“Integration & Education in Greece: way-out or dead-end?” 8th NIEM Coalition Meeting, Mytilene, Greece



 ANTIGONE – Information and Documentation Centre on Racism, Ecology, Peace and Non-Violence organized the 8th Coalition Meeting of the National Integration and Evaluation Mechanism (ΝΙΕΜ)’ with the title “Integration & Education in Greece: way-out or dead-end?”.
NIEM Project is aiming at measuring, evaluating and monitoring the integration of beneficiaries of international protection in 16 European countries.  After a country based research, ANTIGONE conducted a National Report for the Greek Integration policies in various fields. In this particular coalition meeting, the focus was in the Report’s outcomes related to the educational system.



The meeting was held in the Social Centre of MOSAIK in Mytilene and it was addressing to experts, educators, NGOs and state officials working in the field of integration –especially through education- in the island of Lesvos.

It began with a workshop on the management of controversy and multi-culturality in education and it continued with an open discussion for integration and education in Greece and more particular in Lesvos.
