Lithuanian migration and refugee policy: where are we and where are we going?

On 30th of March 2021 the Diversity Development Group in the format of 14th NIEM coalition meeting is organizing a discussion “Lithuanian migration and refugee policy: where are we and where are we going?”. Vice ministers from Lithuanian Ministry of Interior (Arnoldas Abramavičius) and Ministry of Social Security and Labour (Justina Jakštienė) will be presenting government policies on migration for the next 4 years, chair of the Committee on Human Rights of the Lithuanian Parliament (Tomas Vytautas Raskevičius) will be presenting main issues in relation to securing migrants rights that Lithuanian Parliament will be working on in the coming years. Representatives of Lithuanian Red Cross and Lithuanian Caritas will share their experiences from direct field work with integration of migrants in Lithuania. Other organizations working in the field, such as newly established Lithuanian Refugee Council, The Refugees Reception Center, Foreigners Registration Center, different municipalities are expected to participate. The event will be held online.
