The Institute of Public Affairs organised on 29th January the national event „Toward the National Integration Evaluation Mechanism Diagnosis of the situation of beneficiaries of international protection”

Around 40 representatives from public administration, academia, and NGO`s working with migrants and refugees participated in the event.

During the event, which took place at the office of the European Commission Representation in Poland the results of NIEM national report was presented. In the first panel the results of baseline evaluation in selected areas of integration of forced migrants in Poland - access to housing, labor market and language learning was presented. Experts and practicioners, identified the most important problems and challenges in these areas, and considered what changes should be introduced to existing policies to ensure effective integration. The key findings of Polish NIEM national report was presented  together with some of the comparative results of European study presented by Alexander Wolffhardt from Migration Policy Group. Comparison with other countries of the region (V4NIEM countries) and Czech Republic in particular was discussed by the speaker.  

The second part of the meeting focused on the access to reliable data - statistical, legal and administrative. It was pointed out that it is difficult to shape a rational policy without such information and implement the so-called “evidence based integration policy”.

Measuring and improving integration of beneficiaries of international protection" and by the International Visegrad Fund under the project “V4NIEM: Visegrad Countries National Integration Evaluation Mechanism".
